Elimination of greenery is becoming a serious and noticeable problem, which significantly lowers the quality of people’s lives. More than 6,000 trees have been cut down in Rzeszow in 2021, and about 43,000 trees in 2011-2014. As part of the project, we convince the residents and local authorities that old trees and their complexes are as much a tourist attraction as the Old Town Square or the Castle in Rzeszów. We create a Virtual Monumental Tree Trail – a modern, attractive website showing that old trees are an important element of a modern city, providing shelter from the turmoil of urban life.

The project responds to the diagnosed problems of the city of Radom and its inhabitants: the lack of a strategy for sustainable development of the city, including the role that green areas can play in it, and the failure of the municipal authorities to notice the needs of the inhabitants. We want to improve communication between the residents and the authorities, and we also take up the challenge of creating a model for intersectoral cooperation. We conduct training sessions on dialogue and critical thinking as well as two social campaigns.

As part of the project, we monitor how municipalities implement tasks related to counteracting animal homelessness. Data are gathered through access to public information, as well as from local NGOs and activists dealing with animal care. We also check the conditions at animal shelters and clinics cooperating with the municipalities. In this project, we want to encourage citizens to participate in neighbourhood activities aimed at environmental protection and building civil society. We set up home orchards with old varieties of fruit trees and bushes. We conduct classes for young people on climate protection. We draw the attention of local authorities and officials to the problem of agriculture's impact on the natural environment. As a Rural Housewives' Club, we have established cooperation with a similar organisation in Iceland.
