In our project we deal with discrimination against ethnic minorities, and in particular against the Roma minority in the Cracow City. While preparing the project, we used data from the report: ‘Survey on the nature and scale of unreported hate crimes against members of selected communities in Poland’, as well as our own experiences from the ‘Welcome to the land where the Gypsy dies’ project dedicated to the situation of the Roma minority in the Cracow. The project is carried out between November 2021 and June 2022. As part of the project, we organize an exhibition of works of art together with side events aimed at raising the Cracow residents’ awareness of the difficulties encountered by people of different ethnic and national origin, and in particular about hate speech. We carry out educational activities for Polish-Roma youth, in order to enrich their sensitivity, exchange experiences, and provide knowledge and tools to facilitate conscious perception of young people’s identity, including hybrid cultural identity. The beneficiaries of the project are: representatives of the Roma minorities from the Cracow City and its surroundings, Polish-Roma youth and interested Cracow inhabitants.
