The problem we are responding to is the lack of skills to protect personal boundaries and defend themselves in young people who have experienced violence. Violence against children and youth is a serious social problem. The experience of abuse poses a serious threat to a child’s development, health and safety. Children experience violence both in their homes and among their peers. It is extremely important to teach children and young people the skills to protect their boundaries. In this project we teach 550 children and 50 professionals working with them in the Lublin Province how to protect their boundaries and defend themselves. To this end, we are developing and testing a game called ‘Red Light on Your Boundary’ for use by people working with children as well as by parents. The aim of the game is to develop children’s boundaries protection skills in a constructive and socially acceptable way. The game will be available to download in Polish and Ukrainian languages, together with instructions and a lesson scenario. In addition, we are organising an online conference “Personal Boundaries – setting them, or educating?”, running workshops for children and educators using the game, and carrying out educational initiatives for children. As part of the project’s dissemination activities, we will publish a video on how to work with the ‘Red Light on Your Boundary’ game.
