Our project is a response to the Social Policy Strategy of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province. It contains, among others, such observations: ‘In families with the problem of helplessness, there is a lack of skills to create the right family life climate and communication patterns, to relieve tensions arising outside the home, to provide individual family members with a sense of security, and to give children attention’. The aim of the project is to prevent family violence at the earliest possible stage – when it is still in its infancy, in the form of a conflict. The project consists in offering various forms of support for families in coping with conflict situations (especially in the area of custody of minor children), so that aggressive behaviour and consequently violence does not occur. The project is primarily addressed to parents and professionals working with families in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province. We will carry out consultations for parents and workshops improving parents’ competences in accompanying their children in conflict using the minimediation method. We will launch an educational support group for parents and a workshop group for youth ‘The Young Creative’. We will provide psychological counselling, therapy and family mediation. We will conduct interdisciplinary training seminars for professionals, conferences on co-parenting including alternate custody and parental alienation as well as social campaigns on joint exercise of parental authority and parental cooperation.
