Join the ‘Open, democratic, green’ campaign

Join us in a nationwide campaign launched by the Active Citizens Fund – Regional Programme! The first registered 50 organisations or partnerships will take part in a competition. The best reports of activities carried out in the campaign will be rewarded a study visit to Norway.

About the campaign

We invite all organisations and institutions (especially NGOs, schools, libraries and local governments), as well as informal groups, operating locally in Poland, at least partly outside of the capital city of Warsaw, to take part in the campaign.

We encourage you to carry out activities promoting a more open, democratic and greener Poland (and Europe!) as part of the campaign. You can use ready-made scenarios of events or propose your own ideas.

You can also invite other local institutions or informal groups to join the campaign. For example, if there is a library or school operating in your area, you can carry out a joint action together.

Competition

The first registered 50 organisations or partnerships will take part in a competition. We will award five reports of activities carried out in the campaign. Both the way the activity was carried out, including possible partnerships, and the report itself – its originality, ingenuity, and creativity – will be judged.

The winners of the competition will be awarded a study visit to Norway between 21 and 25 October 2024 (a maximum of three people will be representing a given organisation or partnership). During the visit, you will have the opportunity to visit organisations and institutions working in Norway for social inclusion, building a democratic culture and protecting the environment. The cost of the visit will be covered and an interpreter provided.

What can be done as part of the campaign?

For example, you can have a moderated conversation in your community using one of the ready-made scenarios:

On the
jakrozmawiac.org.pl/biblioteka/ website you will find recordings of webinars dedicated to these scenarios and introducing their topics. Our publication entitled ‘Step-by-step model for building dialogue’, can also be helpful in guiding the conversation.

However, if you have an idea for your own activity dedicated to social inclusion and preventing exclusion, building a democratic culture and/or protecting the environment and tackling climate change – you can do it too! We do not impose a rigid framework, it can be a meeting, a workshop, a happening or any other joint action in the local community.

Remember to tag our Programme’s profile on social media (@aktywniobywateleregionalny) and include the hashtag #OtwartaDemokratycznaZielona  – – this way we will follow your activities. Below you will also find ready-made graphic materials (social media graphics and poster templates) to download and use.

Timeline

  1. Until 6 August 2024, organisations or partnerships submit an application form at: https://bit.ly/OtwartaDemokratycznaZielona – we recommend to hurry up as the first registered 50 organisations or partnerships will take part in a competition.
  2. Up to 5 working days after submitting the application, we will inform you about your qualification to take part in the campaign.
  3. Until 6 September 2024, organisations or partnerships have time for:
    • carrying out a minimum of one activity in their local community (at least partly outside Warsaw) which is related to at least one of the action’s themes (i.e.: social inclusion and preventing exclusion, building democratic culture, environmental protection and tackling climate change);
    • sending us, via online form that will be available in August, a link to a report on the activity posted on the Internet (a description with photos, a film or other media, e.g. on the organisation’s website, Facebook profile or YouTube channel).
  4. By 16 September 2024, we will select five reports to be awarded.
